Rainbow Run Day

On Friday 5th July 2019 we will be holding a Rainbow Run Day.

We will be holding our very own Race for Life event in school where children will take part in either a 1km (KS1 children) or a 3km run/walk (KS2 children) to raise funds for two charities:

Kidneys for Life and Cancer Research UK

You can sponsor your child by donating on our just giving page https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/StAnnesCEAidedPrimarySchoolRoyton

and selecting your chosen charity, or by completing one of  the sponsor forms attached. If you choose to use a sponsor form then please send all donations into school.

Please also feel free to share our ‘virginmoneygiving’ page with friends and family.

As part of the day we will also be celebrating our differences and diversity and the children  are invited to come to school dressed as a colour of their class and together we will make a rainbow. This could be a full outfit or simply a t-shirt. The children will need to be dressed appropriately in order to undertake the Rainbow Run.

On the day, children need to come to school dressed in the colour of their own class:

Mrs Mitchell, Nursery– Gold

Mrs Williams – Red

Mrs Evans – Yellow

Mr Gooding – Green

Mrs Snape – Blue

Mrs Ashworth – Orange

Mr Bennett and Mrs Hayman – Lime

Miss Cartwright – Lilac

Mrs McCabe – Turquoise

Mrs Martin – Purple

The children will also be thinking about families, either in school or in the wider world, and how sometimes they can look different from their own family, but that they should respect those differences and know that their own and other children’s families are characterised by love and care. As we make a rainbow we will be  celebrating all the different ways families can be made up and how we support each other, especially when times are challenging.

The children will be creating portraits of their own family in school to celebrate how wonderful our families are. The finished art work will be on display after school in each classroom on Friday 5th July and available for purchase for a minimum of £1. Proceeds from the sale of children’s art work will go to our wonderful PTFA.
